Open Social Training Squad

Easts will be re-starting open social training sessions again soon. This training is to allow the beginner adult players to improve their skill level. These players often may not be able to commit to a full season of competitive volleyball and wish to have the flexibility to shorter seasons or a lower level of competition. Players can attend training on a weekly basis but the schedule is flexible to fit into the persons schedules, hence there is no fixed commitment to attend every week.

More details about social training will be coming soon.

Tournaments and Competitions

Our open social squads are able to participate in a number of tournaments and Competitions throughout the year. The tournaments easts usually enter teams are:

Dragons Flaming Chalice: held each year over the Labour day long weekend in May. Chalice is one of the premier tournaments in Australia and attracts over 90 teams each year. This tournament has divisions for players of all skills.

Phoenix League: Held on a Monday night at Mansfield State High School. The Phoenix League is a competitive level league run as a collaboration between Easts and Dragons. Click here for more information

Spiker Sports League: Held on a Monday night at Somerville House School, South Brisbane. Spiker Sports is a social mixed competition.

Metro League: Held on a Tuesday night at Queensland State Netball Centre, Nathan. Metro League is VQ's entry level inter-club competition. As it conflicts with our training night, Easts are not currently entering teams in this competition.

Grand Prix: In addition, the Grand Prix competition will be running again. Some of our previous PVL players have indicated a preference for the Grand Prix competition. So this year we will be aiming to enter teams in that competition as well. More information about that competition will be added here in the near future.
